Being a member of our staff is a huge responsibility. It takes a degree of fairness and understanding, as well as patience when handling issues. There are several kinds of staff categories, each with their own list of responsibilities.
Administrator:
This will not be given out to just anyone. It likely won't be given out to anyone period. Admins are the owners of the board and are at the very top of the food chain. We have the massive responsibility of enforcing rules and keeping everything in working order. We handle almost all board maintenance, inquiries, and issues. We are also the ones with the power to drop the ban-hammer on whomever deserves it.
Global Moderator:
These guys have a lot of the same responsibilities as admins. They can also enforce rules and are the admins' police force (not that we're terribly strict). This is also not a role we will give to just anyone. It is a role held by our most trustworthy of members who have proven time and again that they can handle it.
Moderator:
This is your run of the mill mod. Mods have a variety of responsibilities and limited power. This is more than likely the role you will be applying for. The power to remove threads within the mod's respective board is among the most prominent.
How to apply:
1. Specify which role you are applying for.
2. Specify which board you would like to moderate and why. If you are applying to be a forum designer, be sure to mention that.
3. Include a list of websites or forums you currently moderate or have moderated in the past, as well as a list of references. URLs and email addresses are expected, and if they are not provided your application will be ignored.
4. Why should I make you a staff member? Include a short essay showcasing your strengths as a mod as well as a personal summary on why you are an ideal candidate. Include a portfolio of your best designs if you are applying to be a designer.
A short disclaimer:
Applications should come in the form of PMs to one or both of the admins. Applications posted on this thread or as new threads will be deleted.
If we are not looking for new staffers at the time you are applying, don't worry. We will save your application for when we have openings and ask you if you would still like to be a mod when that time comes.
Role changes come at the discretion of the admins. If we reject you, do not complain. Apply again when you have more experience as a mod or have better references.
