You will notice at the bottom of the page that there are two chatboxes. One old, one brand new. The old CBox will be used as a shout box. The new IRC chat will act as our main chat function.
A few things about IRC you should know. When you navigate away from the page you signed in on, the IRC will close and you will have to resign in. To avoid this, right click on the #brittlepages tab within the chat and click "Open in New Tab" You can also click it with the center mouse button (the mouse wheel).
As an alternative, you can also download a free IRC client that supports freenode. I use XChat.org, but there are many reliable IRC clients around. Just google "IRC client freenode" and run any websites through wot.com before you download anything.
