How to post a new RPG:- First, start a new thread. In your title, put the setting in brackets, like so:
[Dragon Age: Origins] Title of RPG
- Decide what sort of RPG you want to start. There are two main forms of RPGs that work best on message boards: freeform and objective. Freeform is exactly what it sounds like. There is a time, place, and plot, but it can go wherever you want and never end. Objective RPGs have a set goal that players much try to reach. This should be specified at the very top of your post. You don't have to, it just makes it easier for prospective players to decide if they want to join or not.
- Freeform: Set the stage, either with a list or with a narrative. Prose always makes freeform RPGs nicer.
- Objective: Set the stage, same as above, then provide a brief set of loose rules as well as an objective.
Formatting 101: (none of this is mandatory, it just looks nice) - Your post should be properly spaced.
- Use bolding, italics, underlining, lists, and font size/colors to make your post clear and easy to read.
- Try to keep your text right justified. Centered and left justified are distracting.
Posting Character Sheets:- Post them in the Character Info sub-board.
- Put the universe your character calls home in brackets, like so: [TES: Skyrim] Character Name
- Provide all relevant information about your character that you can.
I'll add more stuff as I think of it.
